Clay

Clay Conley (they/them) is a weightlifter and L1 coach out of Lily Weightlifting in Ann Arbor, MI. Before joining Lily in 2025, they were the Vice President of the University of Michigan Weightlifting team from 2022-2024. From 2023-2024, Clay coached weightlifting at Wolverine Strength and Conditioning. As a former Division III All-American shot putter, they have a deep joy for competitive athletics.

Outside of training, Clay is a PhD Candidate in ethnomusicology at the University of Michigan studying audio engineers in small independent live music venues. You can find them mixing shows across South East Michigan including Ann Arbor venues like the Blind Pig, The Ark, and the B-Side. When not mixing, they are performing in their bands bubblesistheproblem or Buff Butch Baby.
